W2S BR50

Purpose

We developed the W2S BR50 rifle stock for benchrest shooting at 50 meter with the .22lr (small-bore) caliber. Depending on the geographical location and rules applicable the common name for this discipline is ‘Heavy rimfire benchrest .22lr’. In this benchrest shooting disicpline the rifle is shot from both a frontrest and a rear bag. The weight limit is approximate 6.3kg for the rifle including scope.

Design aspects

For the best performance it is absolutely critical that the rifle tracks straight on the front- and rear bag. Therefore the butt and the bottom of the forend of the rifle stock needs to be perfectly parallel. In addition the rifle needs to be stable on the bags with the long and heavy barrels used. Equally important is the requirement that the frontrest is reachable during shooting. In the design of the W2S BR50 rifle stock we took care of all of these aspects.

The W2S BR50 rifle stock is standard 880mm long. This strikes a balance between lenght of the stock and the need to be able to reach the frontrest during shooting. Furthermore, to gain maximum support on the sides of the front bag, the W2S BR50 rifle stock features a 3″ wide forend with 0.9″ high side panels. This prevents the sides of the front bag to crawl over the forend.

Off-the-shelf vs personalized

W2S specializes in custom configurable rifle stocks for which we developed an unique 3D manufacturing approach. This means there is no standard configuration of a W2S BR50 rifle stock. There are many different configurations possible.

But some customers don’t want to wait or don’t feel comfortable configuring a full custom stock. Therefore in the shop you find our configurations we think are the best value for performance and are readily available.
