On customer requests we now sell the Tikka T3(X)/T1X/Sako A7 titanium recoil lug seperately from the complete Tikka bedding kit. Therefore this product only consists of the recoil lug itself.

The Tikka T3(X)/T1X/Sako A7 titanium recoil lug suits the Tikka T3, T3X, T1X and Sako A7 models and replaces the original parts.

Tikka made the factory lug for the T3 from aluminium extrusion. The newer T3X and Sako A7 have a low cost steel lug. Both the aluminium and steel lugs causes mostly a sloppy fit what effects the performance of the rifle. These recoil lugs can dent and deform under heavy recoil, especially with the larger calibers.

Therefore the high grade titanium lug replaces this factory lug.

The recoil lug has a flatness of +/- 0.01mm and also has an outstanding corrosion resistance. Because of the titanium used it also has a high strength to weight ratio combined with excellent surface hardness. A deliberately slightly thicker machined recoil lug guarantees a no-slop fit to the action slot.

Because of the tight machining tolerances, the titanium recoil lug has a tight fit to the slot in your action. Therefore, to fit the titanium lug, tap it into the recoil slot with a nylon or rubber tipped hammer/dowel.

However, for best accuracy results we advise to use a epoxy such as devcon steel putty or marine tex for bedding the recoil lug.
