This steel Tikka T1X barrel thread protector in 1/2″ x 28 UNEF is a high quality, screw-in replacement for your factory barrel thread protector.

Benefits

Many factory barrel thread protectors are made of plastic. Lumley made (CNC) this version from high quality 4140 grade ordnance steel. The finish on the protector is black QPQ nitride with a surface hardness of approximately 60 Rc.

Thread versions

There are two thread versions of Tikka T1x barrel thread protector. One in 1/2″ x 28 UNEF and one in 1/2″ x 20 UNF. The thread fits for example the Tikka T1x rifles sold in the USA. Also many AR15 platform rifles have this thread.

The 1/2″ x 20 UNF fits for example the Tikka T1X rifles sold outside the USA (so also the European models).

Note: currently we sell only the 1/2″ x 28 UNEF version. European customers please check which thread version you have on your rifle before ordering. Also you can subscribe to the waiting list for the 1/2″x 20 UNF version.

Note:
We pack each thread protector into a small ziploc bag with a generous amount of corrosion inhibitor sprayed onto them. This should be wiped off prior to installation. Cleaning of the thread protector should follow the same regime as your barreled action.
