W2S Competition

Purpose

We developed the W2S Competition rifle stock for the Dutch 50M/100M/300M precision shooting discipline. In this prone discipline you need to use a bi-pod without any support for the butt (no rear sandbag or monopod). You shoot the rifle shouldered while making use of your non shooting hand for additional support. The targets are very small (the 10-ring is about 3mm in diameter) and a match consists of 25 shots in a Z-shape. The most efficient calibers for this discipline are the 6ppc, 30BR and 6BR in the Open Class. For the standard class the .308 and .223 are allowed. In the rimfire class, only the .22lr is allowed. The rimfire class is shot at 50 meter.

But next to this discipline the W2S Competition rifle stock is also perfect for long range outdoor shooting, both for matches or just for free-time.

Design aspects

For this discipline it is important not to have a too heavy rifle stock and focus on ergonomics. This discipline is not for everyone comfortable to shoot. Another focus point is stability of shooting of the bi-pod.

We designed the W2S Competition rifle stock standard at 880mm long for stability width medium length barrels. Also because you shoot the match in a Z-shape from top to bottom, we made 1.5 degrees angle in the butt of the stock. To correct for the height differences the shooter places the non- shooting hand under the stock to correct for the heights. For this discipline you must have an adjustable buttplate system and an thumbwheel adjustable cheek piece. In addition to that, there is also a version with an thumbwheel adjustable butt system. This system raises the butt which makes shooting life for this discipline even more easier.

A lot of design time went into the grips of the W2S Competition stock. Therefore these grips are very comfortable to hold. Therefore these grips are the basis for all our stock models. However small difference between them are possible depending on the model.

Off-the-shelf vs personalized

W2S specializes in custom configurable stocks for which we developed an unique 3D manufacturing approach. This means there is no standard configuration of a Competition rifle stock. There are many different configurations possible, especially for the Competition model.

Therefore we offer in the shop different configurations of the same W2S Competition rifle stock. This to offer shooters who are not participating in the PRS50M/100M/300M competition also the possibility to have a Competition-style stock for their type of shooting. Therefore in the shop you find our configurations we think are the best value for performance and are readily available.
