Tikka M558 and M685 Bolt Guide Bushing
This Tikka M558 and M685 Bolt Guide Bushing is a high quality reproduction of the now discontinued factory spare part (Tikka reference: S5840242). The M558 and M658 are arguably the smoothest bolt action rifles of the entire Tikka range due to this component – an innovation for its time, however it was not to carry through to the M590 and M690 released only two years later.
The original Tikka M558 and M685 bolt guide bushings made from 1989 to 1990 were molded from a glass fiber strengthened polyarylamid and in many cases are now showing their age. Our version benefits from 35 years of advancements in manufacturing, and are CNC machined to very precise dimensions from Ertacetal® H-TF POM-H which is an acetal containing 20% PTFE fibers made by Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials. This material delivers high dimensional stability, strength and stiffness combined with a lower friction coefficient over the original part, and an exceptional surface finish!
